Instructor/Trainer – PLC / Automation / Controls or Industrial Electrics / Electrical
Negotiable salary circa £40K – 45K pa plus other benefits, Part Time / Flexible working option available – paid pro rata.

Normal working hours Monday – Friday 8.30 – 5.00. 25 days Holiday plus Bank Holidays

Are you an experienced technical Training Instructor? Or an Automation/ C&I Design Engineer/ Maintenance Engineer/Manager/ or Project Engineer looking for a role where you can utilise your knowledge and experience to train our Clients customers and in house teams?

Our Client has a first class reputation and have invested heavily in a their ability to provide training courses to both locally at customer sites or at the Clients own premises.

PLCs & Automation are the driving force in manufacturing. We’re looking for an experienced candidate to help support our customers primarily through delivering training to help them maintain & fault-find their systems.

We have an opportunity for one Instructor to focus mainly around PLC & Automation product training (PLCs, HMIs, Networking, Drives, etc) & one Instructor to focus mainly around Industrial Electrical training.

The role would suit a Technical Trainer or Instructor working within another educational organisation or college but in the past we have successfully recruited experienced Maintenance Managers, Electricians & Multiskilled Engineers who have the required experience within the industrial environment & are keen to help others learn.

As a Training Instructor, you’ll have the opportunity to engage with customers from all manufacturing sectors making use of a wide variety of hardware to conduct the training courses.

This is a brilliant role for an Industrial Electrical Engineer to take a career change by moving into a coaching role.

As a Training Instructor your role & responsibilities would be:

  • Primarily to support & deliver some of our key Industrial courses
  • Develop & maintain good training notes & materials & to deliver the training
  • Help build new examples & exercises for the training
  • Occasionally you may be required to visit a customer site in order to assess skills or help fault-find
  • Courses are delivered in the company Training Centre and also on client sites across the UK & occasionally overseas.

Skills experience required:

  • Knowledge & experience of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, Drives or Industrial Networking
  • Knowledge & experience of Industrial Electrics &/or Industrial Electrical Safety
  • The ability to communicate clearly & a strong desire to help others learn
  • Experience working with leading PLC & Automation products e.g. Siemens (Step 7 Classic, TIA Portal, WinCC Flex, WinCC), Allen Bradley (RSLogix500 RSLogix5000/Studio5000), Mitsubishi (GX Developer/GXWorks), Beckhoff (TwinCAT), Omron PLCs
  • IT skills to be able to use relevant equipment (hardware & software)
  • Full UK driving license
  • Previously been involved with coaching, mentoring &/or developing colleagues or having delivered classroom led training would be an advantage
  • It is NOT REQUIRED that applicants should have particular technical or professional qualifications
  • More important is knowledge of the requirements of the job in industry & the strong desire to help others learn
