Our client, a highly successful supplier of Control & Automation components offering an extensive portfolio of products, are looking to appoint an experienced Regional Sales Engineer covering approximately the northern half of the UK, responsible for developing sales into the territory of an extensive range of Variable Speed Drives and other complementary automation products across the OEM and End User market whilst building relationships with their Distributors to ensure indirect business growth. Applicants will be technically qualified together with proven success in the automation field and up to date experience in a similar role, selling Drives, or component supply solutions which include a variable speed drive offering.

Ideally you will possess additional knowledge on a wider range of factory automation products and applications, with an ability to add value to the customer interaction and an ability to communicate and form relationships from shop floor to board level.

In order to be successful in this role you are most likely, although not essential, to have an Electrical/Electronic Engineering qualification, along with experience of automation products or solutions as a Field Sales Engineer, Area Sales Manager or Product Sales Manager/Engineer.

Probably at least 5 years sales experience in the Control & Automation market.

Strong communication and commercial skills, technical ability and a desire to succeed are seen as a must in order to make the role a success.

Since the role is covering a large region and possible national travel, location is very flexible, however, good access to road networks is essential, as is the ability to spend some nights away.

Ideal locations would include Manchester, Stockport, Oldham, Bolton, Preston, Warrington, Liverpool, Chester, Stoke on Trent, Leeds, Huddersfield, Wakefield, Sheffield, Doncaster, Derbyshire.
