On behalf of our Client, a leading Manufacturer in their field, we are searching for a Field based Sales Development Manager based ideally in the South East of England, Kent would be ideal, with good access to road networks, although applicants based in the surrounding area will be considered. Field based and working within a small team you will sell a range of electrical products and components for power distribution into an electrical customer base including the utility companies, ICP’s, DNO’s, contractors to the electrical sector and switchgear companies.
The Sales Development Manager will deliver sales growth through business development, product demonstration and technical support activities within the company’s traditional customer base within the electrical sector. This will be achieved through the direct development of new business within identified target accounts, and team working through the deployment of effective business development actions with Sales, Marketing and Specification colleagues, as well as working with and influencing Channel and Distribution partners.
The successful candidate will be highly competent both technically and commercially in this field, and will be a dynamic business professional with excellent communication skills to influence internal and external customers at the highest level. In addition, the individual will develop a detailed knowledge and understanding of the traditional and target markets described, providing specialist knowledge and expertise to establish and implement successful sales plans that will drive profitable sales results.
In order to be successful at this technical role it is likely you will have qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
You will have proven sales success and probably 3 year + experience as a Field Sales Engineer, Area Sales Manager or Sales Executive.
Strong communication, commercial and influencing skills, technical ability and a desire to succeed are seen as a must in order to make the role a success.
Since the role is a large regional territory covering a regional territory, location is very flexible, however, good access to road networks is essential, as is the ability to spend some nights away.
