Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) Manager – excellent salary & benefits.

Our Client is a manufacturing organisation that designs and manufactures a wide range of equipment for use in the electrical industry and has a global presence.

 The QHSE Manager is responsible for managing the overall activities of the QHSE department, representing the QHSE functions and promoting a culture of continual improvement and positive behaviours across the business, Including:

  • The management, co-ordination and continuous improvement of the Company’s QHSE Management Systems, processes and cultural improvements.
  • Act as the SME on all QHSE matters and develop and embed a culture where Quality, Health & Safety and the impact on the Environment are paramount.
  • Provide practical problem resolution to maintaining quality, health & safety standards and minimizing the impact on the environment and production down time.
  • Develop an effective QHSE team by cascading business objectives, providing support and development to the team.
  • The development and maintenance of a safe working environment for all employees through the implementation of effective and efficient policies and procedures.
  • Provision of support, advice and guidance on all QHSE matters to all UK operations.
  • Act as the SME on all QHSE matters and develop and embed a culture where Quality, Health & Safety and the impact on the Environment are paramount. This is undertaken through advising management on these matters and encourage all managers and employees take responsibility and comply with internal procedures and legislation.
  • Identify root causes and propose forward thinking solutions to improve and enhance customers experiences.
  • Build effective relationships with all stakeholders and internal management teams to support the delivery of business goals. 
  • Develop an effective QHSE team by cascading business objectives, providing support and development to the team.
  • To work cross functionally; for example, providing support to the Commercial team with tender applications.
  • Develop and maintain the Site Emergency Team, including Fire Marshals and First Aid support.
  • Take responsibility for professional development and keeping up to date with all the required standards and legislation appropriate for the successful delivery of this role.
  • Active member of the Senior Management Team participating in weekly meetings and providing Senior Management support as required.
  • Budgeting responsibility.

Qualifications/ Experience:

  • IRCA trained
  • Environmental Management Certificate
  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) Health & Safety Qualification
  • Previous experience in manufacturing

Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 7:30am – 4pm and Friday 7:30am - 12:30pm.
