Electrical Design Engineer – Applications & Solutions – East Midlands salary negotiable up to £50K - £60K plus Bonus, Excellent Pension, PMI, Car or Allowance & Other Benefits with some Hybrid working a possibility

On behalf of our Client, a well known and respected, leading company within the Industrial Control & Automation Industry, we are seeking suitable candidates for the position of Electrical Applications & Solutions Engineer to join the fast growing Engineering team, working in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams in the Global Engineering department, which supplies a range of standard products and bespoke solutions to the process industries, including Oil & Gas, Petro – Chem, Pharmaceutical, Food & Beverage, Mining & Quarry, Infrastructure and general manufacturing sectors. In order to be considered for this opportunity you are likely to have HND or Degree level qualification in Electrical Engineering, excellent CAD experience with Autocad, Solidwroks, Eplan, along with some Project Management experience, knowledge of relevant industrial certifications, standards and practices, including ATEX, IECEx & UL, presentation skills and experience in liaising with customers to achieve business win. Ideal would be a background in the design of control panels for the process industries.

This is an exciting and varied role that will see you act as the key link between customer design and in-house production. You’ll split your time between managing customer drawings and producing your own, working closely with other team members, production and the management team within to ensure that they have the resources they need to produce what’s required. You’ll also spend some time interfacing with customers and the manufacturing facility on-site, clarifying their needs in order to produce the required design to satisfy customer and production requirements.

Key Tasks/Responsibilities, to include but not limited to:

Create and/or optimize basic & detailed electrical design and drawings, along with documentation.

Establish quality & testing standards.

Review (Discipline check) of drawing work created and/or optimized by other team members.
Collaborate with project managers and estimators to produce concise drawings for manufacture.

Calculate material requirements.
Pro-actively share knowledge in all phases of projects, Identification of missing and/or incorrect information in the design processes advising on optimization of designs, alternative solutions, and process improvements.
Drive continuous improvement of the CAD department, coaching and mentoring less experienced colleagues, sharing knowledge and advice in the use of (CAD) software and working methods.

Ensure that all work carried out follows internally agreed CAD standards, company safety, quality, environmental and procedural standards.

Skills
Experience:
- 5+ years relevant  multi platform software experience.
- Extensive experience/knowledge of AutoCAD, Solidworks, Solidworks Electrical & Solidworks Flow.
- Project Management experience.

Other requirements:
- Good command of English (written and spoken)
- Ability to collaborate with others to solve problems.
- Good people management skills.

This role is ideally based at the company offices but with some degree of remote working possible and there is the requirement for some travel across the UK, Europe and possibly Global on occasion.
