Job Description

Connectivity Consultant – National role. High Basic DOE Plus Bonus, Quality Car, Pension, PMI, Life Assurance, Employee Benefits Scheme, Tools for the job.

Our client has a superb opportunity for an experienced sales person with expertise in control and automation systems to join them in a role as Connectivity Consultant. Essentially a business development role with the approach of providing expertise and advice, adding value to the customers project or issue primarily through design in, specification and use of connectivity solutions, but also utilising the clients wider range of products.

You will have recent sales experience of several years at a senior level, perhaps Key Account Manager or a National responsibility, along with technical qualification of at least HNC level in a suitable subject, probably Electrical Engineering, good Industry 4.0, Data Connectivity and Industrial Ethernet knowledge. In addition you will have full understanding of control and automation system manufacture, from design, project management, installation and commissioning requirement point of view, which means you are likely to have an earlier career start as a Design Engineer or Project Engineer, knowledge of E Plan or Zuken would be beneficial, then moved on to commercial roles including senior sales at either a component manufacturer, machinery manufacturer, control panel or systems integrator.

This is a senior sales role working within an existing team where account ownership will sometimes be with others or shared, so it is essential that you can work well with others, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, keeping the goals and objectives of the business in mind at all times.

The role involves national travel and will require some nights away, a valid and preferably clean driving licence. Good knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with a CRM system.

Skills summary:

  • At least 10 years sales experience.

  • Technically qualified; HNC minimum level.

  • Strong business development skills.

  • Detailed knowledge about the structure of the control cabinet, including the technologies used

  • Overall understanding of "Switchgear cabinet construction"
    Planning, documentation on installation and commissioning

  • User experience with planning tools such as EPLAN, Zuken, etc.

  • Working knowledge of Industry 4.0

  • Highly organised with a professional sales approach.

  • Natural team player, experience of interdependent working

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Highly self motivated and disciplined.

  • Keenness to embrace, and work with change.

  • Ability to develop key relationships at all levels within a Complex Buying Centre
  • Competent user of office software (Microsoft Office, SAP) and IT equipment (PC, tablet, Smartphone etc.)
  • Full driving licence
