Business Development Manager UK & Ireland - Circa £High neg basic plus performance related bonus, family private health, good pension, quality car, 26 days holiday, plus statutory, buy/sell holidays, and other benefits.

 

We are appointed as the sole consultants for our client and as such have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sales and Business Development Manager for the UK & Ireland with excellent track record of success at a national level and ready to take the next step to join the UK based team of a successful European manufacturer of high quality products predominantly for the electrical and electronic market place.

 

A well respected specialist in their field, our client is looking for an experienced Sales professional to drive the further sales development of an existing, established range of products manufactured at six sites across Europe and the U.S.A.  Based in England, ideal would be central West or East Midlands or North West Manchester area, with access to airports, candidates in other locations will be considered. Your focus will be split approximately 55% mainland and 45% Ireland & Northern Ireland, driving and developing the growth of existing accounts and target growth initiatives in OEM, Key Partners, Distributor and Reseller accounts, along with identifying additional business opportunities in traditional and none traditional customer types. The role will initially involve regular travel to NI & Ireland to further develop this already high growth territory, with the intention being to eventually appoint a further BDM in NI/Ireland, probably 1 to 2 year time, so your travel would then reduce. Travel by air or car as suits best for purpose.

 

The company has a global presence with 6 production sites and a daily commercial presence through its own service centres and network of distribution partners throughout the world. Investing heavily in R&D, the company philosophy has remained unchanged being to design and manufacture high quality products, useful accessories, product improvements and value added services for demanding applications in its market place.

 

As the BDM you will:

Carry out research to identify new business opportunities and projects with OEM, End Users and Distribution Channels.

Build relationships and identify opportunities with existing and dormant accounts.

Target new business through lead generation tools.

Drive Sales growth in carrying out the above.

Analyse competitor products, commercial strategy and routes to market.

Update and maintain the CRM system.

 

 

As a candidate you are likely to already have experience in a channel management, distribution management role in the Electrical/Electronic related market place, in addition channel management experience and knowledge of selling via electrical wholesalers, distributors and reseller channels would be desirable.

 

As you would expect the role involves extensive travel throughout the territory so a valid driving licence and the ability to spend nights away is essential.
