Area Sales Manager Northern England – Process Control & Automation £45 - £50K OTE inc basic, plus quality car or generous car allowance, laptop, mobile, and all other normal benefits.

Fantastic opportunity to join a market leading and progressive company in the automation and control sector as an Area Sales Engineer for Process Control & Automation products.

The Role 
As a technical sales engineer / field sales engineer, you are looking to achieve profitable business sales of the process automation range of products and the full product range into existing and new customers throughout the territory which includes South Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, West & East Yorkshire, Durham, Tyne & Wear, Northumberland & Cumbria. You will be selling into a wide variety of customer types such as Panel Builders, System Integrators, OEM’s and End Users both directly and via a Partner Distribution Network, as you manage an established customer base and access information on potential customers for development. To assist your success in this you will receive comprehensive on going product training. 

You will be field based and working closely with the rest of the sales team and sales managers along with your distribution partners. We are seeking candidates located in the M62 corridor area or West Yorkshire North Yorkshire, Tyne & Wear area, ideally with good access to road networks, although an excellent candidate located anywhere with the territory would be considered. 

The Candidate 
For this technical field sales engineer position, prospective candidates MUST have the following attributes, skills and experience: 
Be an excellent communicator, negotiator and presenter, passionate about building lasting client relationships with Key Accounts.
Business to business (B2B) field sales experience with control & automation, process automation, process instrumentation products of at least 3 years, preferably including involvement within the oil & gas, pharmaceutical, chemical, energy & utilities industries.
Ideally have an engineering qualification in a relevant subject such as ONC, HNC or Degree level in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
