On behalf of our Client we are searching for a Field based Area Sales Manager based ideally in the West Midlands or East Midlands, with good access to road networks, in order to work a territory extending from central to Southwards down to the South West of England, possible locations include, Leicester, Coventry, Birmingham, Bromsgrove, Droitwich, Redditch, Worcester, or possibly Buckinghamshire, Warwickshire, will be considered.
Field based and working within a small team you will sell a range of Electrical / Tool / PPE products for a blue chip, high quality manufacturer, establishing new distribution networks and relationships with wholesalers, specialist distributors and where appropriate direct customers.
The Area Sales Manager will deliver sales growth through business development, product demonstration and technical support activities within the company’s traditional electrical sector customer base. This will be achieved through the direct development of new business within identified target accounts, and team working through the deployment of effective business development actions with Sales, Marketing and Specification colleagues, as well as working with and influencing Channel and Distribution partners.
The successful candidate is most likely to be sales experienced in the electrical sector, preferably with experience developing sales with reseller channels, desirable is experience with tools and/or PPE sales. In addition, the individual will develop a detailed knowledge and understanding of the traditional and target markets, providing specialist knowledge and expertise to establish and implement successful sales plans that will drive profitable sales results.
You will have proven sales success as a Field Sales Engineer, Area Sales Manager or Sales Executive.
Probably at least 3 years sales experience in the Electrical, Tools or P.P.E. equipment sectors.
Experience working with and motivating reseller channel partners.
Strong communication and commercial skills, technical ability and a desire to succeed are seen as a must in order to make the role a success.
Since the role is a large regional territory covering a regional territory, location is very flexible, however, good access to road networks is essential, as is the ability to spend some nights away.
