Area Sales Manager Electrical Switchgear & Wiring Accessories Staffordshire, North West & North Wales

Circa £50K OTE including good basic plus car and benefits package.

Location: Ideally based Stafford, Stoke on Trent Manchester areas.

On behalf of our Client we have an outstanding opportunity on offer for an experienced and motivated salesperson to be a Field based Sales Engineer/Area Sales Manager covering the North West of England and North of the West Midlands, and North Wales, developing sales of industrial low voltage switch gear, distribution boards, circuit protection and wiring accessories.

The role includes account management of an established customer base, growing and developing further business with those and business development of new accounts. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a successful track record as a Sales Representative, Sales Executive or Sales Engineer within the Electrical components market place, and ideally experience with OEM’s Specifier, End User along with Electrical Wholesalers, and Electrical Contractors. A high proportion of sales are via wholesalers and distributors so this role will suit someone with experience working through reseller channels or currently working at an electrical wholesaler or distributor or with experience of managing sales through these channels.

You will be field based, dividing your time working from a home office to make appointments with influential personnel in your target sector and travelling and visiting customers at other times. You will be provided with initial and on-going product training and full support to assist you in your success and technical support will be available to assist you.

You will be working to achieve a target and as is normal will need to file reports to the office detailing your activities on a regular basis.

The person

Ideal locations Greater Manchester, Stockport, Warrington, Chester, Stoke on Trent, Stafford, Staffordshire. You will have a background in Field Sales within the Electrical Control and Automation industry, probably an electrical qualification to ONC level or an ability to demonstrate your electrical understanding and knowledge. An ability to learn quickly and think on your feet. Enjoy dealing with both commercial and technical sales. Excellent communication and presentation skills. You will be very self motivated and have a strong desire to succeed. Good negotiation skills and the ability to close, natural drive and the ability to make things happen. You will be able to illustrate your sales success and ideally have benefitted from some form of sales training. Travel throughout the defined territory will be necessary at times and you will be required to spend some nights away from home.
